Our History

The parish’s story stretches back to the early 20th century, when Eastern European immigrants settled in Carnegie seeking opportunity and a place to worship in the Byzantine Christian tradition. Initially worshipping with Sts. Peter & Paul's in Carnegie (founded in 1903), by the 1940s, under the holy leadership of Fr. Marion Kucher, the community aligned fully with the Ukrainian Catholic Church. By 1951 the faithful built a new home under the heroic leadership of Monsignor Russell Danylchuck, who shepherded the parish until 1984.

Over the decades, the parish was served by devoted pastors including Fr. Richard Seminack, later appointed Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of St. Nicholas in Chicago, and Monsignor George Appleyard, who guided the parish through years of growth and liturgical enrichment. In 2014, Fr. Jason Charron was assigned as pastor and continues to lead the parish in fidelity to the Kyivan Byzantine tradition, rooted in worship, service, and community life.

Who We Are Today

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church remains a place where faith, culture, and community come together, deeply rooted in Byzantine Christian heritage. We offer a Saturday Divine Liturgy (4:00 PM) and two Sunday Divine Liturgies—one in Ukrainian (8:30 AM) and one in English (11:00 AM)—welcoming all who seek the beauty of Eastern Christian worship and wish to embrace their Ukrainian Catholic identity.

Our church is known for:

  • A Rich Liturgical Tradition, grounded in centuries-old Byzantine Catholic practices.
  • Community Events & Festivals, celebrating Ukrainian food, music, and heritage.
  • An Ecumenical Spirit, partnering with neighboring churches in prayer and service.
  • Humanitarian Outreach, especially in times of crisis, supporting both local and global needs.

Led today by our pastor Fr. Jason Charron and Father Deacon Myron Spak, Holy Trinity continues to stand as a spiritual anchor in Carnegie—honoring the past, serving the present, and embracing the future.

“The Church needs you— not as a museum piece, but as a living witness to the beauty of diversity in unity.”
